Our Story: Travaglio Quattro

On July 27th, 2011, we became FOUR!

We’re settling into Nashville from Naples, Italy.  I recently started a career in corporate America…and am still learning how to balance life between my job, my husband and my especially active son.

My husband Gaetano and our son Giovanni Dale and I will be moving to America in May 2009.  We are excited about starting a new chapter in our life together, as a family.  I will be getting out of the Army in late July 2009 and will be on the hunt for a job this summer.  Gaetano used to play soccer in Italy and hopes to coach a club or school team when we go back to the states.  I graduated from West Point in 2004 and have lived in Miami and Napoli–due to my rough military assignments.  Honestly, I cannot complain.  Its been a nice run, but its time to move on, now that I have a family.

I’ll use this site to chronicle our adventures in Italy and America.  Needless to say, I always have something to report on–being a frazzled, working mom with a hyper baby and a Neopolitan husband.

*****

I had just been stationed at the NATO headquarters in Napoli when my life took an unexpected turn…I met Gaetano at a Super Bowl party in early 2006.  We were engaged in November 2006, married in August 2007, and became parents to our crazy little son Gianni Dale in September 2008.

We’ve been adjusting to life as new parents, learning to embrace each others’ cultures and preparing for our big move to America.  This will be Gianni’s first time to visit the states and Gaetano first time to live there.   We can’t wait to see what surprises lay ahead…

Oh BLONDE SARAH….my how things have changed. An Italian husband, baby boy, and you’re no longer a blonde! But I think you’re having sooo much fun!

This is a little off subject of your blog but I am interested in your husband Geatano’s geneology. My great grandfather Michael Travaglio came to america from Naploi in 1908 and from the history of the Travaglio family I have I know it is not a real common name and there are not too many of us out there. Any help you could be would be greatly appreciated. Btw you guys have a beautiful family.

    Best regards,

I hope you enjoy living in the States. I’m from Los Angeles, CA and my husband was in the military as well, but we are now adjusting to the new adventures of the married life and I am glad to see I’m not alone! Hope you have a great one :)
